At the end of April, 15 lucky ATS members undertook a site visit to Transurban’s Control Room in Brisbane.
Kevin Stewart attended the event and says the quality of the experience was excellent with a very positive atmosphere in the room. “Transurban’s speakers were very willing to share their knowledge and provide technical explanations of their systems and processes,” he says.
“One of the highlights was the opportunity to see the consolidated control room that allows Transurban to monitor all their roads in Brisbane. This includes three major tunnels, two major toll roads and several other roads.”
This event was organised by the ATS’s Tunnel Systems, Operations and Maintenance Group and the feedback from participants was that everyone enjoyed the session.
“We all appreciated the opportunity to see the operations and hear from the experts,” continues Kevin.
As the second in a three part series of Transurban Control Room site visits (the first being Melbourne), the final event will take place in Sydney on 15 May: https://www.ats.org.au/ats-event/site-visit-transurban-road-tunnel-control-room-sydney/
